Relocates Queensland store.

Teds Cameras is relocating its Southport store in Queensland approximately 10km south to the fully redeveloped Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach. The new store is set to open in mid-August.

“This is the first in a revised store model for Teds with the focus moving to smaller site size while maintaining a deep range of cameras and lenses supported by clever core ranging of key accessories,” Teds Cameras CEO, Nic Peasley told Appliance Retailer.

“The rents that shopping centres now command make it unrealistic to keep building stores that are more than 120m2. This new store at Pacific Fair will be 90m2 with open exposed ceiling detail, modern joinery and smarter use of efficient lighting and display options,” he continued.

The store will have five to eight staff, most of who worked at the Southport store, including young managers and strong sales people. The launch will be supported by a strong and sustained campaign including offers and brand awareness.

“It’s an exciting initiative for us with similar footprints being planned for Chadstone later in the year. We will also undertake a full refit of our Pitt Street Sydney flagship which will be the most unique and revolutionary imaging retail and education space that we can possibly design and build,” Peasley said.
