Electrolux Home Products has announced it will close down its hot water division, effective immediately.
Electrolux has run its hot water business under the Kelvinator brand for three years and has confirmed that the handful of staff within the business will be retained to work elsewhere within the company.
Electrolux Home Products Australia and New Zealand managing director, Mike Putt, told Appliance Retailer that the decision to close the hot water business was disappointing, but there was simply “no room” following the recent acquisitions including the BeefEater Barbecues over the last two years and the Vintec Wine Cabinets business announced in late June.
“Electrolux is focused on profitable growth,” Putt said. “Vintec and BeefEater Barbecues are very successful established businesses with the potential to continue to deliver that growth.”
