SYDNEY, NSW: Garmin is this week farewelling its foundation national sales manager, with Matt DeMoss returning to his native United States almost three years after establishing the navigation specialist’s roots in Australia.

Prior to DeMoss arriving in Australia, Garmin products were sold through a distributor. DeMoss arrived with the goal of expanding this distribution, increasing brand awareness and improving sales. Having achieved these three objectives, he and his young family are now returning to Kansas City, home of Garmin’s head office, where he will become the director of Latin America sales.

The new national sales manager is Ian Edwards. Originally one of the first sales managers recruited by DeMoss in 2008, Edwards has been with Garmin for 2.5 years. He will report to general manager Trevor Berrange.

Both DeMoss and Edwards told Current.com.au this morning that Garmin was performing very strongly, with the brand currently readying itself for the expected Christmas rush.
