SYDNEY: Even though Philips has decided to leave the local retail TV market, the Dutch company will remain in the Hospitality TV category which has been transferred to the Lighting division of the local subsidiary.
“[The Hospitality TV category] is a very important part of our local business and we’d like to confirm to our partners today that this decision will have no change on our hospitality offering – in fact we are looking to grow this portfolio even greater than iTV,” said Philips Electronics corporate communications manager, Sarah Campbell.
“Philips will be continue to provide a market-leading offering in the Hospitality TV business. In fact, Philips has made moves to strengthen its Hospitality portfolio to include the respective strengths of Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting sectors in the hospitality industry. The Hospitality business will focus on marketing Philips’ proven value propositions in this category, including integrated HotelTV systems, lighting solutions, and other relevant consumer products.
“Philips will continue to be a player in the Hospitality segment in Australia and will in fact increase our investment in this area through the introduction of even more customer focused innovations,” she said.
