ASKO has showcased its new Pearl Grey colour for its Elements oven series and new Celsius induction cooktops, both expected to launch in Australia in early 2024.

ASKO Australia sales director, Rob Butchatsky was on the show floor explaining how Pearl Grey responds to current design trends.

A unique new colour has been added to the Elements by ASKO kitchen design range, Pearl Grey described by ASKO as “sophisticated but playful, vivid yet understanded, timeless but effortlessly modern” as it integrates with contemporary kitchen styles and a range of materials such as wood, granite, marble and ceramic.

The Pearl Grey ovens incorporate soft grey painted glass, which features a subtle metallic sprinkle, giving the glass a rich, layered effect. The metallic sprinkle is designed to react to different types of light. For example, a kitchen with soft ambient lighting will create a warm neutral glow, while spotlights will bring out a sparkle. ASKO’s designers were inspired by the unique Scandinavian geology and special shine found in minerals.

Butchatsky also explained why the Celsius induction cooktops set a new standard for precision cooking.

With the Celsius Cooking system, ASKO connects smart accessories with step-by-step recipes and induction technology to prepare perfect dishes every time with precise control of temperature and time.

The System includes a Celsius Cooking Probe, which measures the exact temperature inside they food, as well as the temperature of any liquids. The smart cookware, Celsius Cooking Chef’s Pot and Celsius Cooking Frying Pan, which have a sensor on the base to measure how much heat is being directed towards the pot and pan, are available as accessories.

The cooktop, pan, pot and probe communicate with one another using Bluetooth to ensure the right temperature and right heat at the right time. A companion Celsius Cooking website is home to a collection of step-by-step recipes.

The cooktops are built feature an intuitive interface that puts the user in control of every aspect of the unit’s performance and several smart functions. For example, the Auto Bridge function in designated zones expands the cooking area when using extra-large pots and pans, while Auto Pot Detection activates as soon as a pot is sensed.

The Easy Dial 2.0 circular sliders feature on the cooktop’s interface – one per zone. The Circular Slider control on the touch displays shows the heat level, both graphically and numerically. The slide has a double function and can be used to intuitively set the power level or set the exact temperature of the ASKO Celsius Cooking pans.
