BERLIN: Sharp Corporation has followed up its revolutionary inch-thick LCD with another flat panel model featuring a 250GB built in hard disc drive that has the unique capability of recording in full high definition.
The Sharp Aquos LC-52HD1E, which was exhibited on the company’s stand at the IFA 2007 exhibition in Berlin was named European Time Shift TV of the year by the European Image and Sound Association (EISA) The HD1E is available in either 52-inch or 46-inch models and in addition to being able to record in fill 1920 x 1080 high definition, features 100Hz double frame rate to reduce motion blur.
According to Sharp Electronics Germany, Frank Bolten, the new panel provides consumers with the ability to view HDTV in 1,080p full HD resolution, record films digitally, pause television at any time and continue watching them at the same place.
“With the HD1E range we have created exceptionally high quality, premium televisions, combining first-class LCD technology with future-proof comfort features in a visibly high grade carbon frame,” Bolten said.
EISA judges were impressed by the numerous TV tuners including two conventional analogue tuners as well as three digital tuners for terrestrial, cable and satellite television.
