SYDNEY: Bush Australia is currently running a charity promotion where the company donates five cents to the Jeans for Genes every time a retailer or consumer clicks on one it its product websites — and it doesn’t cost the visitor anything.

The charity promotion is running throughout July and August 2008, and the funds will go to Jeans for Genes, the major fundraiser for the Children’s Medical Research Institute. Bush Australia will donate five cents for every unique visitor to anyone of its websites during the promotion period.

Bush Australia has four websites for its home entertainment, audio, floorcare and hair grooming products:,, and

According to Bush Australia today, so far the initiative has raised nearly $2,500, with the company predicting it has the potential to raise over $10,000 by the end of the August.

Bush Australia is asking retailers to visit the sites and encourage their customers to do the same. And Bush Australia’s managing director, Daniel Todd, said the websites are a tool to help consumers research their purchases before buying from their retailer.

“More and more people are using the internet to make their shopping more efficient. People today are time poor and with the rising cost of fuel it makes sense to use the internet as a resource, whether it’s to find the exact product you want, check features, compare prices or find the nearest retailer,” Todd said.

“We have recently upgraded our websites to make it a more efficient, exciting and interactive experience for consumers. And now consumers in return can help us raise funds for this worthwhile charity simply by visiting our sites.”
