One of the more impressive new releases on the iLounge section of the 2013 International CES is the Native Union Switch speaker, which was a finalist at the CES Best in Show awards.
The iLounge is a large hall at the Las Vegas Convention Centre devoted to Apple and other smartphone brand accessories.

The Switch speaker packs a lot of sound into a small form factor – around twice as much as the Jawbone Jambox the Native Union staff were cheekily comparing it to – while also retaining a stylish rectangular appearance. In addition to being a speaker, the Switch can also be used as a power station, with USB, MicroUSB and MiniUSB inputs.
The first release of the Switch will be Bluetooth only and will be available in March for US $149.
While Current.com.au was at the Native Union stand to check out this speaker, we spotted two buyers from Dick Smith Electronics engaged in a hearty discussion with the company representatives. Current.com.au tips the Switch to be on local shelves not long after the US release.
Also at Native Union’s stand is its previously unveiled range of Bluetooth phone handsets that can be used to make and receive calls from smartphones. Two of these models are pictured below in the foreground.
