SYDNEY: LG has released a new mobile handset specifically designed for regional Australian users. Described as a “super-fast smartphone” the KF390 features HSDPA 7.2mbps wireless connectivity and Telstra’s blue tick of approval.
This model is succeeds the TU500 series, which LG claims sold 500,000 handsets. Improved features from the earlier series include innovations in web browsing, download speeds and a compatible car kit.
Talking about this release is Telstra executive director, product management, Ross Fielding.
“That capability [fast downloading] translates to a faster experience for customers browsing the net, downloading content and using 3G applications like WhereIs mapping,” said Fielding.
LG marketing manager mobile communications Carli Wilson was focused on the regional market when she boasted about the model.
“The LG KF390 responds to this demand by offering customers strong coverage performance around Australia…
“This further signifies LG and Telstra’s commitment to providing first-class mobile phones to rural and regional customers across Australia,” said Wilson.
Other features of the KF390 include 2-megapixel camera, 2-inch LCD screen, touch navigation and tactile keys, speakerphone, Bluetooth, MP3 and expandable 2-megabyte memory.
This model is available exclusively through Telstra at RRP $599.
