Sony has unveiled the latest addition to its award-winning 1000X series, the WF-1000XM5 truly wireless earbuds, promising the best noise-cancelling and best call quality to date.
To coincide with the launch of the WF-1000XM5, Sony has a new brand tagline for its audio products: ‘For The Music’. Under this tagline, Sony is affirming itself as the premier audio brand connecting creators and music lovers, aiming to create authentic music experiences and transcend emotion. Sony has also partnered with singer, actor, song writer and Sony Music Entertainment artist, Miguel on storytelling around how the WF-1000XM5 earbuds are ‘For The Music’.
The WF-1000XM5 deliver premium sound quality and what Sony claims to be the best noise cancelling performance on the market. Real-time audio processors and high-performance microphones power the specially designed driver unit Dynamic Driver X for wide frequency reproduction, deep bass, and clear vocals.
The WF-1000XM5 incorporates three microphones on each earbud, including dual feedback microphones, which improve low-frequency cancellation performance, marking Sony’s biggest step forward in noise cancelling. The noise isolation earbud tips feature a unique polyurethane foam material that reduces high frequency noise.
The earbuds also support High-Resolution Audio Wireless thanks to LDAC and DSEE Extreme to upscale digital music in real time. Inclusion of 360 Reality Audio promises an immersive audio experience, while head tracking technology automatically adjusts sound fields to compensate for head movements.
Promising Sony’s best call quality, the WF-1000XM5 deliver voice clearly in every situation. Thanks to an AI-based noise reduction algorithm founded on Deep Neutral Network (DNN) processing and bone conduction sensors, voice comes through crystal clear. Plus, the wind noise reduction structure minimises wind noise.
The WF-1000XM5 have been designed with comfort in mind at around 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the WF-1000XM4, making them more comfortable to wear for extended periods.
Other popular Sony features include Adaptive Sound Control and Speak-to-Chat as well as Multipoint Connect to pair two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Staying connected is made easy thanks to Fast Pair and Swift Pair. With up to eight hours of battery life, a quick three-minute charge provides up to 60 minutes of play time. Qi technology offers easy wireless charging. The earbuds are water-resistant with an IPX4 rating.
WF-1000XM5 uses recycled plastic materials and adopts Sony’s proprietary paper, Original Blended Material for the packaging. Original Blended Material is an environmentally conscious paper material made from bamboo, sugarcane fibres, and post-consumer recycled paper.
The WF-1000XM5 are now available to pre-order for SRP $499.95 with an official launch in August.
