SYDNEY: Haier Australia marketing manager, Tony Gersback, has resigned after 16 months in the role to take up a position in the building and construction industry ending a 20-year career in the local whitegoods business.
Gersback has officially tendered his resignation and after serving a four-week period, will leave Haier Australia’s premises at Silverwater in western Sydney on Monday 9 April.
“I have been presented with an opportunity to join a leading brand within in another industry in a senior role,” Gersback said this afternoon.
“It is with much sadness that I leave Haier and the many friends that I have made during my 16 month tenure. I hope and trust that we can remain in contact both on a business and friendship level,” he said.
Prior to joining Haier, Gersback was national brand manager for the Simpson, Kelvinator, Chef, Dishlex and Hoover brands at Email Major Appliances, which later became Electrolux Home Products.
Gersback was responsible for all Haier marketing activities and oversaw advertising, sponsorship and PR activities.
