BRISBANE: Wow Sight & Sound has been announced as the sleeve sponsor of the Brisbane Broncos National Rugby League (NRL) side, for the entire 2007 season.
As the second largest sponsor for the reigning NRL Premier’s, with players such as Darren Lockyer, Shaun Berrigan, Shaun Tait and Brad Thorn donning the jersey for 2007, Wow Sight & Sound will look to capitalise on the increased exposure gained through the season long sponsorship.
“This is a great way for us to launch our brand nationally [and] with expansion plans rapidly taking shape it is a great way for us to connect with potential customers as well as support an icon in the sporting arena,” said Wow Sight & Sound marketing manager, John Karibalis.
Brisbane Broncos sponsorship manager, Terry Reader, said Wow had increased its support of the team in 2007 and was a welcomed addition to its suite of high profile sponsors.
“It’s very exciting to have Wow Sight & Sound as a major sponsor,” he said.
“Wow is an exciting retailer and the Broncos play an exciting game, it’s a natural fit that we would support each other in a venture like this.
Wow Sight & Sound, director of retail, Con Nicolas, believes the increased exposure the brand will receive this season, will assist the company in its plans for expansion.
“Everything we are doing this year is in preparation of developing the brand and we want people to know about us, and what better way to do that than get behind the best team in the NRL,” he said.
“Wow is a leader in the market so it’s natural to back sporting leaders as well. BRW magazine rated the Broncos as the ‘most powerful sporting brand in the country’ and we want to achieve the same success in our industry so we will be taking pointers from them.”
Wow Sight & Sound currently operate nine stores throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory, with five more superstores planned before Christmas.
