BRISBANE: The board of Betta Stores Retail (BSR) today released a statement describing the first week of sales for the 180 Betta Electrical and Chandlers franchisees as “brisk”.
“Betta Electrical and Chandlers stores across Australia have enjoyed brisk sales in their first week of trading since the franchisees successfully banded together to acquire the group,” the statement said.
“This is an excellent start for the group and thanks should go to all our franchisees, staff and of course our loyal customers,” said BSR retailer and board member, Everard Johnson.
“We’re looking forward to a strong Christmas with two new Betta Electrical retailers having already opened their doors in the last week and a third to open before the end of the year. Now that it is back to business as usual the push is on to attract new retailers to the group,” he said.
According to Johnson, the underlying retail business is continuing to trade profitably and the new owners of the franchise are looking to implement a lean, low-cost franchising structure.
BSR purchased the Betta Electrical and Chandlers franchises through a member buy-out on 9 November after a bidding process against Leading Edge Group and Retravision WA.
