SYDNEY, NSW: Over 5,000 different consumers have downloaded Panasonic’s unique Air Conditioner iPhone app, using this program to help them select the best air conditioner for their needs more than 25,000 times.

This information was revealed by Panasonic Australia MD Steve Rust at a roundtable discussion today on how the consumer electronics industry can best incorporate green thinking into its products and initiatives.

Rust said that Panasonic is now working on new apps to help consumers choose the right product for their needs, and to assist retailers in helping to qualify their consumers so that the right products are bought by the right consumers. Apps to help consumers choose the right TV, digital camera or camcorder might soon be available.
