Rio theme to attract ‘movers and shakers’.
The National Retailers Association (NRA) is inviting nominations for its Rewards for Excellence program that recognises the ‘movers and shakers’ in the industry.
There are 13 award categories including: Franchisee of Year and Small/Medium/Large/Multichannel Retailers of the Year and Employer of the Year. There are also awards for Training, Innovation, Sustainability and Safety as well as for Young Retailer of the Year, HR Practitioner of the Year and CEO of the Year.
NRA CEO Trevor Evans said those who are nominated will have shown remarkable commitment to the industry across a number of areas. “We are encouraging retailers to nominate a standout colleague or their own business. We want to recognise those who are thought leaders in their field, whilst promoting the diversity of viable career opportunities in this ever-evolving industry.
Young Retailer of the Year for 2015, Medina Cicak had some advice for budding retailers thinking about nominating. “Do it. Take the chance and put yourself out there, see the big picture, give yourself the opportunity to see what is out there,” she said.
Winner prizes include a place on the Westfield World Retail Study Tour, valued at $17,000, multiple places on the Neuresource Group Diploma of Neuroscience of Leadership Program, valued at $5,000 and a mentor program with retail Doctor Group’s CEO Brian Walker. Complimentary training vouchers and tickets to industry events will also be provided to every award winner.
Nominations close on June 3 and finalists announced on July 15 with winners to be announced at a Rio theme dinner in Sydney on September 14.
