Nespresso Oceania has launched its first community-driven charity initiative, the Nespresso Care for You Fund.  

Over 12 months, the fund will donate a total of $75,000 across nine charities in Australia and New Zealand, nominated and voted for by their community of coffee lovers.  

Nespresso customers can nominate a charity they care about by visiting the Nespresso Care for You Fund webpage and explaining in 150 words why the cause is important to them.

All charities must be registered on either the ACNA Australia website or the Charities Services New Zealand website and must align with one of six categories: Climate and Nature, Community Development and Neighbourhood, Female Empowerment, Food Action, Mental Health & Wellbeing or Sustainable Production and Consumption. 

The Nespresso Care for You Fund will run across Australia and New Zealand, with nominations open between Tuesday 5 March and Wednesday 13 November 2024. Three charities will be selected at random every three months, with a public vote directing one charity to receive a major donation of $15,000, and the two remaining to receive donations of $5,000 in each of the three waves. 

The fund launches during B Corp Month as Nespresso celebrates its third anniversary as part of the movement of companies which seek to create an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy by demonstrating high social and environmental performance.  

Nespresso Oceania managing director, Stefan Vermeulen says the NespressoCare for You Fund is designed to promote a culture of inclusion where customers can help guide the company’s charitable decisions. 

“As a B Corp, we not only want our coffee to be a force for good, we want to channel that effort towards the causes that matter most to our customers. To do that, we must invite our community to have a say. We hope the Nespresso Care for You Fund will help us to better understand our customers and expand our positive impact across Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
