Entry-level smartphone maker in top three.
Alcatel OneTouch has climbed to third position in the Australian handset market on the back of new product releases throughout the third quarter and ongoing focus on the pre-paid market segment. Alcatel OneTouch has also engaged with growing channel partnerships and promotion through new marketing initiatives for brand exposure.
Figures from analyst firm IDC reveal that Alcatel OneTouch is third in smartphone sales by volume and second in feature phone sales by volume, delivering an overall third position by volume for total handsets sold in Australia in third quarter of 2015.
Alcatel OneTouch regional managing director, Sam Skontos, said these latest figures give credence to the growth strategy being implemented locally by his team.
“Our product range and accompanying marketing activity bring to life the values of our brand, being accessibility, affordability, creativity and fun. This is clearly resonating with both our industry partners and Australian consumers and naturally we are delighted with these latest figures,” Skontos explained.
“Investment in an ever-expanding product portfolio with our channel partners and ongoing high-profile marketing initiatives will continue to be a focus, and while we are pleased with this milestone we have our eyes firmly focused on fourth quarter, 2016 and continued growth and expansion”, he added.
