As part of its global sponsorship of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, LG Electronics Australia is running a competition called LG Anthem Kids to find youngsters to act as mascots for the National Anthems before each of the many, many matches during the tournament.
Running 14 February through 29 March 2015 across Australia and New Zealand, the Cricket World Cup features 14 teams playing 49 matches, with the final being held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Fifteen children per match and more than half of the 49 matches across the tournament being held in Australia means there are a lot of spots to fill for the lucky kids who win a spot to walk out with their heroes and then enjoy the match via a free general admission ticket.
The competition runs until 12 January 2015 and winners will be able to attend matches with a parent in all the capital cities. To qualify, the child must be between 5 and 8 years old. To win, a parent must explain in 25 words or less why their child should be chosen.
Sources close to this competition say that plenty of spots are available to be won and that any cricket-loving boy or girl should definitely have an entry put in on their behalf.
