Premium audio supplier Bose has today recalled several models from its CineMate GS Series II and CineMate Series II home theatre ranges due these units posing a potential fire hazard.

The barcode numbrs of the affected models are: 051361, 051363, 051364, 051365, 051466, 051468, 051469, 051470, 052751, 052752, 052753, 052921, 055303, 055371, 055481, 056671, 056673 and 057971.

According to the ACCC's Product Recalls website, these units can cause a fire when used at over 220 volts.

"A component in the Acoustimass module could fail and present a potential fire hazard when the voltage from the wall outlet is 220 Volts or higher," says the recall notice.

These products were sold at Bose retail stores and through Bose's authorised resellers between 1 September 2009 and 12 September 2012.

Affected users should immediately stop using the products, unplug them from the wall outlet and contact Bose for a replacement or refund. Bose can be contacted on 1800 775 553.
