The opening of Harvey Norman’s new Harvey Norman @ Domayne Alexandria cooking appliance showroom in Sydney on the weekend was given extra star power, thanks to an appearance from famed French chef, rugby union fan and Samsung brand ambassador, Guillaume Brahimi.

Conducting a series of cooking demonstrations on Saturday, Brahimi showed off Samsung’s built-in appliance range to store visitors, cooking a number of dishes while speaking about his experience as a chef and his association with the Samsung brand.

Speaking to Current.com.au about his early opinions on joining with the brand, Brahimi said it was “super cool”.

“That’s what my kids say,” he said. “They say, ‘That’s super cool’. I’m not the kind of person that has 20 ambassador jobs. I’m a classical chef, and I was honoured to be associated with a company that is at the top of innovation — it’s fantastic. I’m a big believer in the classic with cooking, but it’s all about adapting to modern times. Now I’m a classical chef in a partnership with the leader in technology.”

Samsung appears to have made a good choice with its latest brand ambassador, who joins the ranks of the Australian national rugby team, the Qantas Wallabies, in being associated with the Samsung brand. Not only is Brahimi a dedicated rugby fan, but Current.com.au also learned that he has advised the French rugby team on player diets and team nutrition.
