The Hong Kong Electronics Fair Autumn Edition, a trade platform for sourcing new products, smart technology, AI and more, was held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) it featured three themed zones: New Tech, New Trend and New Lifestyle.

Speaking at a cocktail reception, HKTDC chairman, Steve Chuang said the fair – with 3,200 exhibitors from 22 countries – has been “attracting buyers worldwide for the past 40 years”. The Hall of Fame featured 550 displays of innovative products and 19 startup businesses were promoting innovative ideas. along with a plethora of electronic products in the Tech Zone.

A first-time exhibitor was French group, Lexibook. General manager, Emmanuel Le Cottier told Appliance Retailer, the fair offered good exposure, particularly for Asian countries. The company manufactures learning and electronic devices for children – a market he said that was growing strongly in Europe.

Among the new products for children was a Google-certified LapTab with touch screen. “It is safe with no phishing and no advertising”, and the Powerman Star interactive robot with educational quizzes and Story Maker mode.

Another company making its fair debut was mobile accessories group, Remax. Marketing director Vicky Cma said audio items such as Bluetooth earphones are the hot selling items. “Pre-Covid it was all about cables, chargers and power banks, but now everyone wants a fast charger.”

Tech company, Eleeels introduced what marketing manager, Herbert Lui said was a first for the industry – a cordless hot stone massage wand that featured seven massage skills, and a hot stone home spa collection, which has collected a 2023 Red Dot and European Product Design award.

Emerging trends were smart home products and artificial intelligence in product design and development said to be the most popular areas of application.

Gaming was also prominent with an industry first gaming laptop featuring a 16-inch 4K HSR dual-mode screen with a supercar-inspired exterior design that can be outfitted with lighting effects, from Thunderobot Technology.
