UnderCurrent wishes the Bosch dishwasher a happy 50th birthday! Bosch released its first dishwasher in 1964; the last major product release before Bosch joined forces with Siemens to create the über-company we know and love today.
Although Germany is the traditional home of dishwashing, it took a while for Bosch to join in the dishwashing fun: Miele is credited with ‘inventing’ the dishwasher in 1929 (three days before the Wall Street crash that triggered the Depression).
Being late to the party doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy yourself: Bosch now claims 22 per cent market share in Australia, making it the Number 1 choice.
