SYDNEY: Doro Australia today confirmed its managing director, Matt Segafredo, who was expected to leave Doro at the end of this month, will stay on at the helm of the Danish company’s Australian subsidiary for at least another two months.

Doro announced in November last year that Segafredo had resigned and would leave the company at the end of January, having fulfilled his charter to stabilise and create a new direction for the company.

“Further to the recent announcements in respect of the future of Doro Australia Pty Ltd – we are very pleased to confirm that Matt Segafredo has agreed to extend his contract with the company for a minimum of a further two months,” said the Doro marketing manager, Janelle Lucht, in the statement.

The statement also alluded to recent speculation about the future of the Doro business in Australia, fuelled mainly by a press release from its overseas owner suggesting the Australian subsidiary would be sold off in favour of a distribution model.

Doro Australia dismissed the report, but conceded it is considering a business model restructure while continuing to trade as normal.

“This [Segafredo’s extended tenure] will ensure both the continued smooth running of the business and that the ongoing re-structure is completed in a timely manner with minimal disruption to the business,” said Lucht.

“Once again we would like to re-state our intention to create a business that is entirely focused on our Australian and New Zealand customers. These are exciting times and further announcements will be made soon.”
