From architecture and product design to service innovation and digital solutions, the 2025 Good Design Awards aim to highlight the diversity and impact of design in shaping a better future.
Entries will be judged across three key criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation, and Design Impact. The evaluation process includes a thorough multi-stage review, with entries assessed through online independent scoring, group evaluation, and a final multi-disciplinary assessment.
This year’s awards cover a broad range of categories including Built Environment, Communication Design, Concept Design (NEW), Design Research, Design Strategy, Digital Design, Engineering Design, Fashion Impact, Next Gen (Under 30s), Policy Design, Product Design, Service Design, and Social Impact.
The 2025 Australian Good Design Awards will also recognize recipients of special accolades, including the Australian Good Design Award for Sustainability, Australian Design Prize, Australian Good Design Team of the Year Award, Michael Bryce Patron’s Award, Women in Design Award, Indigenous Design Award, Powerhouse Design Award, Automotive Design Award (Interior and Exterior), and the Robert Pataki Award for Healthcare Design.
For every entry submitted, the Good Design Awards will donate more seed pods to AirSeed, a partner supporting reforestation and biodiversity restoration projects across Australia.
This initiative helps restore habitats, including koala habitats, and contributes to the revegetation of cleared agricultural areas.
Winners will be notified in August 2025, with the awards ceremony scheduled for October 17, 2025, at the ICC Sydney.
