SYDNEY: Now in its third year, the Optus ONE80PROJECT is a national competition giving aspiring TV makers a chance to have their concept program produced and aired on MTV in Australia and made available to Optus customers on the Optus ZOO Portals.

There will be two winners chose from the entries and part of their prize includes a prize package from LG Mobile Phones including the new Secret Black Label Series mobile phone, as well as a 52-inch LCD TV, home theatre system, notebook and DVD recorder.

People can vote for their favourite pilot via their mobile phone or at the competition website. Voting will take place over seven weeks, from 17 November, 2008 to 30 January, 2009.

The pilots from the 10 finalists will be screened at the Optus ONE80PROJECT Festival on February 1, 2009, after which the two winning entries will be announced.

“We have seen an explosion in popularity of user generated content in recent years, with more and more people creating and sharing content online and via their mobile handset,” said Optus Consumer group marketing director, Michael Smith

“The Optus ONE80PROJECT mirrors this trend, delivering a compelling interactive experience to our customers, while allowing participating film makers to reach TV, mobile and online audiences. We are proud to be supporting this project for a third year and look forward to seeing the fantastic Australian talent this year’s entries have to offer.”
