SYDNEY: Sony Australia deputy managing director, Carl Rose, announced today that he has appointed former Olympus and Polaroid executive Toby Barbour to the position of strategic project manager – digital imaging.
"Toby will work across selected areas of the company, but his initial challenge will be to support our sales and marketing activities relating to digital imaging,” said Rose.
Barbour will manage all products under Sony’s ‘digital imaging’ banner including digital still cameras, handycams, digital photo storage devices and photo printers in Australia.
Barbour’s previous experience in the digital imaging industry includes roles as sales and marketing director at Olympus, as well as a stint as national sales manager at Polaroid.
Barbour said he was attracted to the power of the Sony brand and the diversity of its product range. He began his appointment with the company on Monday 27 November.
“Toby has excellent credentials in the photographic industry and we look forward to working with him," said Rose.
