Smeg is boasting its foodie credentials this month as a sponsor of The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month, with the Italian brand taking part in a number of food-focused events across Sydney throughout October.
Coming back as a sponsor for a second year, Smeg will be providing appliances for a number of events during Good Food Month, including a series of Master Classes held by famous chefs from across the world that will showcase Smeg’s TFT display ovens, induction cooktops, built-in BBQs and combi-steam ovens.
The brand will also feature at the SMH Growers’ Market on the Chef Stage, which will play host to a series of demonstrations and talks from the likes of Matthew Evans (from the SBS series Gourmet Farmer) and food writer Jill Dupleix.
“One of the most eagerly anticipated Smeg-sponsored events is The Cook, The Stylist, The Photographer, hosted at the Smeg Head Office and Showroom in Banksmeadow,” said a Smeg spokesperson.
“This promises attendees the chance to peek behind the lens of food styling and photography with Good Food’s Jill Dupleix and Fairfax photographers Edwina Pickles, Steven Siewert and Marco Del Gran. The food photography shoot will be produced on a range of Smeg appliances and be followed by breakfast.”
The month will wrap up with a ‘Great Australian Dinner’ event that will bring together famous chefs — including Neil Perry, Kylie Kwong and internationally-renowned chef Rene Redzepi of Copenhagen’s Noma restaurant — to cook a four-course dinner using Smeg appliances.

Also coming on board as a sponsor of Good Food Month, Harvey Norman will host a Coffee Expo across its network of stores this weekend (Saturday 12 October – Sunday 13 October).
Here’s Harvey Norman’s spiel from the Good Food Month website:
“Fancy becoming a home barista? Harvey Norman's qualified team (there's a barista in every store!) not only offers you a coffee on the house during this weekend-long event but helps you find the ideal home machine from their huge range.
“Catch in-store demonstrations, take advantage of discounts and cashbacks. You might even score one of many giveaways throughout the weekend.
“Don't just treat yourself to a great coffee – treat yourself to a great coffee machine!”
