Freshtel Holdings Limited announced on Friday that non-executive director Spiros Nikolakopoulos has tendered his resignation in order to take up the challenge of a new full-time role in the telecommunications space.

Freshtel Holdings Limited is an Australian internet telephone technology company that develops and markets VoIP telephony products and services. In 2007 Freshtel partnered with Australian home entertainment retailer, JB Hi-Fi, to sell Freshtel branded products and services, such as the firefly softphone, in over 70 stores in Australia.

Nikolakopoulos has accepted a full-time senior management role with a global company that will require him to work extensively overseas. His new commitments will limit his ability to contribute to the board and fulfil his obligations as director.

Ken Loughnan AO, chairman of Freshtel Holdings commented that his departure was met with gratitude and best wishes from the entire board.

“Spiros has made a valuable contribution to Freshtel during his time on the board, particularly sharing his knowledge and experience in telecommunications sales and marketing. We are disappointed to lose such a talented director but appreciate that he has an excellent career opportunity ahead of him and we wish him the very best in his new role,” he said.
