SYDNEY, NSW: Leading personal care appliance supplier Conair has announced details of a number of promotions to support its VS Sassoon brand in the lead up to Christmas. In addition to these consumer promotions, Conair will be conducting a substantial TVC campaign to drive consumers into retail stores.

Consumers who purchase any product from the VS For Men range, which includes the popular i-Trim device, will go in the draw to win a Panasonic Full HD Blu-ray home theatre package. Also included in this prize is the new X-Men box set, featuring all four films on Blu-ray, and a signed Wolverine poster. One hundred runners up will receive the X-Men Blu-ray box set.

The major prize in this draw is valued at over $4,200, and with wobblers, shelf talkers and point-of-sale material to back it up, this competition should prove popular. This promotion will run from 1 October 2009 through to 24 December 2009.

For the ladies, all consumers who purchase an VS Sassoon electrical hair styling product (except hair brushes) can enter the draw to win one of three luxury shoe packages from Peep Toe. The three lucky ladies who win this prize will receive one pair of designer shoes each month for a year. As with the Men’s promotion, Conair is supporting this competition with a significant investment in point-of-sale marketing. This competition will run from 1 November 2009 until 31 December 2009. understands that Conair has had an especially good year in 2009, with the economic downturn having a positive effect on sales. This is because the style and fashion conscious have turned to in-home haircare solutions instead of their regular visits to salons and beauticians. The metrosexual fad has also been a big boost for Conair sales, with the i-Trim model attracting strong demand as a result of a TV commercial shown throughout the year.
