Preferred technology for watching sport.

LG Australia is recommending retailers and consumers take the ‘OLED challenge’ when deciding to upgrade their television ahead of the Olympics in Rio in August.

In an exclusive interview with Appliance Retailer, LG Australia general manager – marketing, Angus Jones (pictured below), presented an argument for OLED technology as the preferred format for viewing the Olympics.

“LG believes the 2016 Olympic Games is the perfect time for Aussies to upgrade their TV – and we would certainly hope to see that reflected in sales,” Jones said.

“Our OLED TVs offer a response time of 1000 times faster than regular LED or LCD TVs, helping to reduce blur, which makes them an excellent choice for watching sport.

“And with sport being full of colour, LG OLED TVs truly bring images to life, offering a greater contrast range and wider colour gamut than LED/LCD screen technology, with over a billion colours and perfect black – ultimately, making you feel like you’re actually in the stands at the Games.

“We’re encouraging customers to go in store and take the OLED challenge and experience the difference first hand.”
