Unveiled alongside Galaxy S10 and new wearables.

Samsung’s Unpacked Event has seen the unveiling of its first foldable smartphone – the Galaxy Fold, as well as four Galaxy S10 smartphones and three new wearables – the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit.

Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung has confirmed that its customers in Australia will be among the first in the world to experience the new Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone. Expression of interest registration is now open, although its on-sale date and pricing is yet to be announced.

The Display

Galaxy S10 is made with the world’s first Dynamic AMOLED display. As the first HDR10+-certified smartphone, the display delivers vivid digital content, dynamic tone mapping and a wider range of colour. The display also reduces blue light through its TÜV Rheinland-certified Eye Comfort display without compromising picture quality or adding a filter.

Galaxy S10’s display also includes the first-ever in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner that reads the 3D contours of a thumbprint improved anti-spoofing with the world’s first FIDO Alliance Biometric Component certification.

Galaxy S10’s unique Infinity-O Display packs an array of sensors and camera technology into a hole-in display to maximise screen real estate.

The Camera

The Galaxy S10 introduces new camera technology and advanced intelligence. In a first for the S Series, Galaxy S10 offers an ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field of view.

Super Steady recording with digital stabilisation technology allows users to record every detail at a concert or on a bike ride without any blur. Both front and rear cameras can shoot in up to UHD quality, and in an industry first, the rear camera can record in HDR10+.

Scene Optimiser can now recognise and more accurately process additional scenes because of the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). With Shot Suggestion, Galaxy S10 offers automatic composition recommendations to better frame photos.

Intelligent Performance

Samsung introduces Wireless PowerShare on Galaxy S10, making it possible to easily charge Qi-certified smartphones and even compatible wearable devices. In addition, Galaxy S10 is capable of charging itself and a second device simultaneously via while connected to a regular charger.

The new AI software on the Galaxy S10 automatically optimises battery, CPU, RAM, and even device temperature based on how the phone is used and continues to learn over time. Leveraging AI-capabilities, Galaxy S10 also learns how the device is used to launch the most frequently used apps faster.

Intelligent Wi-Fi allows for an uninterrupted and safe connection by seamlessly switching between Wi-Fi and LTE, as well as alerting users of potentially risky Wi-Fi connections.

On Galaxy S10, Bixby automates routines and provides personalised recommendations. Pre-set and personalised routines, such as Driving and Before Bed routines are customised based on habits.

The Galaxy S10 5G

5G Connectivity

The Galaxy S10 5G, Samsung’s first flagship 5G smartphone, enables consumers on a 5G network to download a full season of a TV show in minutes, play graphics-rich cloud games with virtually no lag, enjoy enhanced VR and AR experiences and contact friends and family via real-time 4K video calls.

Availability

The Galaxy S10 range of smartphones is now available to pre-order in Australia from today. Customers who pre-order a Galaxy S10 from participating retailers between 9.00am AEDT February 21, 2019 and midnight AEDT March 7, 2019 will be eligible to receive a bonus set of Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds (RRP $249). The on-sale date for the Galaxy S10 range of smartphones in Australia is March 8, 2019.

Galaxy Watch Active

Galaxy Watch Active comes with a sporty new design that is thin, light and versatile. Users can select a stylish watch face and choose a sporty strap in a range of different colours.

Galaxy Watch Active has exercise, sleep, stress and health tracking features for those seeking a healthier body and mind, including new Blood Pressure Monitoring. The Stress Tracker keeps stress levels in check via the Stress Widget with features such as breathing exercises.

Galaxy Watch Active can auto-detect when the user is running, cycling, rowing, using the elliptical trainer, or to start a dynamic workout. Users can manually engage in more than 39 activities, set daily goals and monitor progress.

Galaxy Watch Active is compatible with Android and iOS and offers real-time coaching, indoor/outdoor activity tracking and features third-party apps including Under Armour, Spotify and Strava. Users can now use voice to control Galaxy Watch Active with Bixby’s voice capabilities to make calls or send messages without picking up the phone.

Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e

Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e automatically start tracking activity when users walk, run, cycle, row, hop on the elliptical trainer or start a general dynamic workout. Users can also manually select from more than 90 different activities in the Samsung Health app, and Galaxy Fit/Galaxy Fit e will automatically start to track chosen workouts. With enhanced sleep analysis and smart stress management, users can monitor wellbeing at any time of the day.

Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e are easy to interact with on the go, thanks to a simple and intuitive UX and a user-friendly smart experience. Receive alerts and messages or check the widget which includes information synced straight from the smartphone —like alarm, calendar or weather—without needing to touch the phone. When users travel to a new time zone, the Galaxy Fit will also automatically display a dual-clock watch face to make it easier to manage a schedule. Both devices are water resistant of 5ATM3.

Galaxy Buds

Galaxy Buds are the ultimate cord-free earbuds with a truly comfortable form factor, easy controls, clear and smart sound, and compact size.

Galaxy Buds offer sound by AKG with Enhanced Ambient Sound that allows users to hear surroundings clearly even while the buds are in ear.

The Adaptive Dual Microphone uses one inner microphone and one outer microphone in each earbud, to deliver voice clearly in both loud and quiet environments.

With up to six hours of Bluetooth streaming and up to five hours of calls, the compact case holds a charge for up to seven hours, and gives the Galaxy Buds 1.7 hours on a 15-minute quick charge.
