Danish floorcare brand Nilfisk has launched a new TVC promoting the power of its filters. Set in a dystopian future where families (including the pet dog) wear vacuum cleaners on their heads, the new spot dials up the fear factor, suggesting that rival brands expel so much unfiltered air that, “it’s like wearing a vacuum cleaner on your head”:

Meanwhile, Nilfisk has donated 80 vacuum cleaners to the Victorian State and Local Governments in their efforts to clean up Morwell, the south-eastern Victorian town beset by fires in nearby coal mines.

“Nilfisk firmly believes these vacuums will provide the most effective vacuum process in the essential task of collecting and ridding Morwell homes of the fine particulate matter resulting from the fires,” said Nilfisk ANZ MD Jim Athanas.

Furthermore, Nilfisk has secured a special offer on its Elite Classic range for local residents.

“Having discussed the Morwell crisis with its retailers, Nilfisk can confirm that the Moe and Traralgon Betta stores agreed to offer the Nilfisk Elite Classic vacuums at 50 per cent off retail price to Morwell residents.”

These initiatives were announced at a press conference with Victorian Premier Denis Napthine.
