Samsung Electronics, the number two mobile phone brand in Australia, has appointed two new senior executives to its team in efforts to increase market share and become Australia’s favourite mobile phone brand by 2010.

Whilst at Nokia, McGee was responsible for the strategic management and operational management within Japan and Korea, as well as being responsible for sales across a number of countries.

McGee’s appointment for this new role at Samsung Australia, is aimed to help further build on the success and growth seen in 2008 and to push for market leadership in the mobile phone category within two years.

“Tyler’s start has been widely anticipated across Samsung and as a key strategy to further build our market share and brand strength in the mobile space. We are serious about our goal of being the most popular Australian mobile phone provider with consumers, carriers and retailers alike and Tyler will play a key part in achieving this goal” said Mr Choi, Managing Director, Samsung Australia.

McGee was very enthusiastic about his role, saying, “I’m eager to start working with the Samsung team and our partners to build on the achievements of 2008. This foundation of success along with our solid 2009 product roadmap and a more strategic approach to our business will drive us forward and achieve our goal to be the number one mobile phone brand in Australia”.

In addition to this appointment, Samsung bolstered its marketing division with the addition of Maxime Bonpain, who joins the team as head of marketing.
