SYDNEY: JB Hi-Fi has revealed almost all its upcoming store locations for the coming financial year and that two to three stores will either relocate or have major refits.

Revealed at the Macquarie Emerging Leaders Conference in Sydney this morning, JB Hi-Fi chief financial officer, Richard Murray, said the company plans five new stores in New South Wales, four in Queensland, one in Victoria, eight Western Australia stores, one in the ACT and two in New Zealand.

The New South Wales stores will be located in Albury, Tweed Heads, Pagewood, Penrith and one undisclosed Sydney location.

Queensland will see stores in Morayfield, North Lakes in Brisbane, Cairns and Rockhampton.

Western Australia will see the most new stores, with new locations in Malaga, Cockburn, Cannington, Joondalup, Claremont, Rockingham, Mandurah, and in the Perth CBD.

Victoria will have a new Bendigo store, while the ACT will also gain one store, in an undisclosed location.

New Zealand’s new stores will be in St. Lukes and Botany.

Uechtritz also revealed its Clive Anthonys chain will build three new stores in Frankston, Victoria, Helensvale, Queensland and another undisclosed location in the ACT.

Stores yet to be built this financial year include Plenty Valley and Cranbourne in Victoria.

On average, JB Hi-Fi would look to open 13-15 new stores each year for the next four to five years, Uechtritz said.

JB Hi-Fi also unveiled plans to focus more on smaller format stores in smaller catchment areas. The stores would have similar product categories and the focus would grow as the chain drew closer to its 150 store target, Uechtritz said.
