Zip Water has been recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative companies on the 2021 AFR Boss Most Innovative Companies – Manufacturing and Consumer Goods List.

Zip Water International CEO, John Doumani said Zip Water’s spot on the list was recognition of the company’s ongoing legacy of innovation.

“Featuring on the 2021 AFR Boss Most Innovative Companies – Manufacturing and Consumer Goods List is a testament to Zip Water’s continual investment in Australian-based innovation and design. Innovation touches all aspects of the business at Zip Water, from people to process,” he said.

The company is focused on the delivery of instant boiling, chilled and sparkling drinking water and strengthened its innovation credentials this year with a suite of new products. In response to Covid-19, Zip launched the HydroTap Touch-Free Wave, a contactless version of Zip Water’s flagship HydroTap, providing touch-free activation for boiling, chilled or sparkling water for employees.

“With 43 common touchpoints for employees throughout their average workday, we knew we needed to come up with a solution to improve hygiene in the workplace, while maintaining our focus on delivering water at its best,” Doumani said.

Zip marketing and innovations director, Mike Abbott said since Covid there has been a greater desire for residential consumers to have the convenience of a filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water appliance in the home like they are used to in the office. “Sparkling water is particularly on trend at the moment,” he told Appliance Retailer.

Earlier this year the company launched a digital campaign on social media promoting these benefits, highlighting the great taste, convenience, and health benefits in a ‘water at its best’ campaign that included showcasing seven tap styles and seven designer finishes suitable for all kitchens. Abbott said there are some exciting new product developments for late 2022.

The AFR Boss Most Innovative Companies list is now in its ninth year and ranks the most innovative organisations in Australia and New Zealand, by industry, and is the only national list of its kind.
