Breville is entering the final week of a promotion on its manual espresso machines, offering consumers who purchase selected models from the range the chance to learn the ropes of coffee making at a Toby’s Estate home barista course.

The offer is available to consumers who purchase a BES900 Dual Boiler machine (RRP $1,499), a BES860 Barista Express (RRP $799) or a BES840 Infuser machine (RRP $549), and the promotion runs until the end of this month.

According to Breville’s in-house Coffee Guru, Phil McKnight, the partnership with Toby’s Estate made sense for Breville, and was a great way to extend on the purchase experience in-store.

“Toby’s Estate has a roastery and training facility in every mainland capital city – Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane,” said McKnight.

“They’ve got a bank of BES900 Dual Boilers and BCG800 Smart Grinders in each of their training facilities for people to work on, but people can take their own home machines along if they wish. The promotion is for a 1.5 hour barista training course, so they’ll get to learn how to make the best coffee on their particular machine at home.

“I think that’s one of the things that daunts a lot of people from manual espresso purchase – the fact that they think it’s really complicated and difficult, and that they won’t get a great outcome. But through my professional coffee life, I’ve literally taught hundreds of people to make coffee. And it’s actually quite a simple process, if you just get them on the right path to start with, it’s very easy for them to achieve very good results at home.”

The promotion finishes on 31 October 2012, and full details can be found on Breville’s promotions website.
