Yamaha is launching the ZG02 compact game audio mixer as the latest addition to its growing range of gaming and content creator audio solutions.

The ZG02 features two key elements – the included ZG Controller software and the ZG02 compact game audio mixer interface – which combine to create a simple, intuitive, and high-performance gaming audio interface.

The ZG Controller software unlocks all the tools required for a professional presentation, with compressors, limiters and EQ for the microphone plus the setup of preset modes for the quick select buttons on the mixer.

Other features include the ‘3D chat space’ that capitalises on Yamaha’s expertise in DSP and 3D sound processing, allowing users to spatially select where the game chat is coming from within the overall 3D sound field.

The ZG02 compact game audio mixer has been designed to control the multiple layers within gaming audio and live streams, allowing adjustments and control without having to navigate additional software or settings.

On the ZG02 itself, a precision fader adjusts the overall microphone volume, microphone gain switch (three levels of preset), dials for adjusting the microphone monitoring levels, game party chat and game audio (commonly called loopback) all functioning independently. There are also quick recall preset buttons for a variety of sound modes and effects within the ZG controller software, plus quick mute button.

For streamers looking to use the ZG02 as the audio interface for a professional audio stream, the new ‘link’ function can be used to output the levels setup for monitoring as the final audio levels being broadcast. Simply adjust the sound using the interface controls and the sound will be modifed within the stream.

When connected via USB-C to Playstation 5 or Nintendo Switch consoles using the ZG02’s dedicated console connection will serve as a high performance audio interface. With two USB-C connections, users can simultaneously connect to a PC and console at the same time.

The ZG02 is compatible with surround sound of up to 7.1 channels via the PC USB-C connection, which can be monitored within the ZG Controller software and enjoyed through the connected headset.

The Yamaha ZG02 compact game audio mixer is now available for RRP $299.
