Telstra CEO, Sol Trujillo, announced this morning that Nerida Caesar has been promoted to group managing director of Telstra Wholesale.

Caesar is currently working as executive director, national sales at Telstra Enterprise and Government; she will take on the new role as of 30 March 2009.

Caesar will replace Kate McKenzie, who was appointed to the role of group managing director, strategic marketing last week.

The role will require Caesar to be directly responsible for the financial and working relationship with Telstra’s biggest enterprise and government customers.

Mr Tujillio commented on how Caeasar’s consistent performances in the past and her extensive background was perfect for the role.

“Nerida has shown tremendous energy, intelligence and strategic thinking in her management of complex customer relationships since joining Telstra,” Trujillo said.

“Nerida’s promotion to GMD of Telstra Wholesale is a natural progression for someone who has displayed leadership and vision while consistently delivering results in her sales role with Telstra’s biggest customers.”

Caesar was very enthusiastic about her new promotion.

“Telstra Wholesale is one of the most exciting and issue-rich parts of the company, and I am very excited to have the opportunity to lead the division at an important time in its history,” Caesar said.

“Telstra values its wholesale customers and I hope to build on the strong relationships that Kate McKenzie forged during her time in the role.”
