Appliance Retailer magazine is now available to download and read on Google Android devices from the Google Play store.

Australia’s most influential magazine in the retail consumer electronics and appliance industries, Appliance Retailer has long been considered ‘The Bible’ for store owners, sales staff, suppliers, marketers and industry analysts.

In addition to covering all the latest product releases and industry trends, Appliance Retailer goes in depth to break all the major stories in the retail industry. During 2012, Appliance Retailer has published exclusives on Retravision Southern, United Warranties, WOW Sight & Sound, The Winning Group and Harvey Norman.

As the editor of both Appliance Retailer and Current.com.au, I am constantly asked when the magazine will be available to read on a tablet or smartphone. Today is that day, with readers able to download full editions and some back issues to phones such as the Samsung Galaxy SIII, the Motorola RAZR HD and the HTC ONE XL.

Those interested in reading Appliance Retailer on a tablet can now do so on models such as the Motorola XOOM2, the Samsung Galaxy TAB and the Google Nexus 7.

I greatly encourage any regular Current.com.au readers that don't subscribe to Appliance Retailer to download our most recent issue. Although I love working on Current.com.au to break original and interesting news stories every day, Appliance Retailer is the home of long form stories that really get to the heart of the industry.

A feature in Appliance Retailer typically runs for 10-20 pages and will include commentary from almost every supplier in the category, as well as retailers and industry analysts, including GfK.

Download our September issue and you can immerse yourself in a 30-page Christmas Feature, or go back to August and find out everything you need to know about the Cooking Appliance category, which has around 50 active suppliers.

Lastly, Appliance Retailer is the home of Australia’s most fearless technology columnist: James Wells. If you haven’t read what James has to say on Haier taking over Fisher & Paykel, JB Hi-Fi’s flailing salesmanship or the collapse of Retravision Southern, you are truly missing out!

I’d love to hear what our readers have to say about this move, so please feel free to leave comments below or send me an email.
