In the same week Woolworths announced the departure of its CEO and plans to cut 1,200 jobs, a product recall has been added to its list of woes.
Four Essentials, Adesso and Contempo portable room heaters sold at Big W and Woolworths have been recalled because the pins in the plug may dislodge when the appliance is being unplugged from the wall which could potentially result in electric shock or fire.
The heaters were sold nationally in the last four months between 15 March 2015 and 17 June 2015.
The affected models are:
– Woolworths Essentials Upright Fan Heater 2000 watt (FH09E-B)
– Essentials Oscillating Fan Heater 2000 watt (FH09F-B)
– Adesso Oscillating Ceramic Fan Heater 1800 watt (FH102T)
– Contempo Oscillating Ceramic Fan Heater (FH102T)
Consumers should stop using the heaters and return them to their nearest Big W or Woolworths store to receive a full refund.
