Dyson has received four prizes at the Red Dot: Product Design Awards 2009, including a “best of the best” award, rewarding the company’s strong focus on quality and design.

The Red Dot Awards is one of the world’s largest design competitions and is regarded highly in the sector and around the world.

The jury assesses submitted products by various criteria like innovation, functionality, formal quality, symbolic and emotional content, as well as a products self-explanatory aspect.

Dyson were awarded prizes for high design quality in the DC22 and DC23 vacuum cleaners and the Dyson Airblade AB01 hand dryer. The DC24 Ball brush vacuum cleaner was awarded the Red Dot “best of the best” award for the highest quality design.

The Dyson DC24 Ball Brush vacuum cleaners unique approach and high quality design was what won the award for the product. With its unconventional approach to steering the DC24, does not have wheels, instead the Dyson engineers replaced them with a ball for added manoeuvrability.
