Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced the appointment of Arno Lenior to the position of marketing director – corporate. In this role, Lenior will lead the company’s Australian Corporate and Marketing Communications division in the Audio Visual, Mobile, Home Appliances, Information Technology and Digital Imaging product divisions.

Today's announcement comes two months after former head of marketing, Lambro Skropidis, announced his resignation.

Lenior began the role yesterday, and brings with him more than 20 years of marketing experience in a range of different organisations, including well-known electronics brands such as NEC, Toshiba and Gateway, as well as a role as marketing director of premium brands and innovation at liquor company Lion Nathan.

Lenior also recently founded and ran a strategic consultancy business, with clients including Air New Zealand and Virgin Mobile.

Speaking about the appointment was managing director of Samsung Electronics Australia, Seung Ro Yoon.

“Samsung is increasingly being recognised for its first to market achievements and progressive innovation throughout all of our business units,” said Yoon. “Arno’s appointment signifies the next chapter, taking the Samsung Electronics brand to the next level with an even stronger focus on delivering our brand message of relentless passion to inspire and enrich lives.

“Following years of experience working across prominent brands, his strategic marketing expertise will be a valuable asset to Samsung.”

Lenior was also positive about his move to Samsung.

“As a consumer electronics powerhouse and technology innovator, Samsung is a company I have watched evolve for a number of years now,” he said. “Between 2009 and 2011 Samsung has achieved growth of 139 per cent in brand preference, illustrating the love consumers have for the Samsung brand and its diverse range of incredible products.

“It’s my goal to take the next step and make Samsung one of the most loved consumer brands in Australia.”
