SYDNEY: Philips Electronics Australia has announced it will enter the Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) category in 2007 with the addition of the DVR5100 and DVR7100 to its expanding product portfolio.
The Philips 160GB DVR5100 (RRP $849.99) and 250GB DVR7100 (RRP $949.99) come equipped with twin HD tuners giving users the ability to record two programs in HD simultaneously, or watch one while recording the other, with both units featuring the added benefit of Pause Live TV mode and One Touch recording.
”In addition, users can pre-program their Philips PVR in advance to record two channels simultaneously without the requirement to be home at the start of the recording,” said Philips in a statement today.
”Viewers also have complete control over when they stop and resume watching a program with Pause Live TV functionality, by returning to a paused program whenever it suits.
“Making recording simple, the Philips PVRs will record television in 30 minute intervals with the press of one button.”
The new Philips PVRs will both feature HDMI with 1080i and 5.1 channel audio recording, as well as a number of additional ease-of-use features including a self-guided set-up and pre-programmed channels for key Australian metro areas.
The DVR5100 and DVR7100 are both available now.
