A popular brand of coffee grinder has been recalled in Australia due to the fact that it poses a severe safety risk for consumers.
The affected product is the Starbucks Barista Blade Grinder with model numbers SKU 162640 (Black) and SKU 173572 (Stainless Steel) retailing for $44.95 at Starbucks stores between October 2004 and March 2009.
The reason for the recall is that the grinder can fail to turn off or can turn on unexpectedly, presenting a risk of laceration and serious injury for consumers.
The product was sold nationwide and Starbucks Australia is urging customers to immediately stop using the grinder and return it to the nearest Starbucks store for a cash refund or store credit issued on a Starbucks card.
