V-ZUG has unveiled its first Sydney-based studio in Surry Hills.

Taking influence from its existing showrooms around the world, the studio champions circular sustainability using materials that have been sourced locally or incorporate recycled or circular elements, where possible.

Each element of the two-storey terrace building’s interior has been hand-picked by V-ZUG’s team to embrace its surroundings. The interior has kept its existing exposed brickwork and timber ceiling on the ground level paying homage to the original building. The space has been created with a tonal palette and includes commissioned local Sydney-based designers for a touch of ‘coastal’ life.

Beyond showcasing V-ZUG’s product range, the space includes homewares from local climate-neutral brand Mud Australia, Dinosaur Designs and minimalist furniture from global designers, Vincent Van Duysen, Pedro Paulo-Venzon, Jorge Pensi, John Pawson, and Elisa Ossino.

Behind the studio design is V-ZUG global interior art director, Gabriel Castelló with extensive knowledge and experience across passive and circular design. Pinyon has been integral to the design of V-ZUG’s existing studios in London, Paris, Milan, Vienna, Copenhagen, Munich, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

V-ZUG Sydney studio manager, Gianni Carrieri.

“The concept of V-ZUG is always to try to be local. I think it’s important because whatever we put into our space speaks about us. Our V-ZUG Studio Sydney is very different to others around the world, and we can’t wait for Sydney-siders to experience it for themselves,” Castelló said.

V-ZUG managing director, Nic Naes said, “As the only Swiss-founded household appliance designer and manufacturer in the world, V-ZUG has been reliably making life easier since 1913 with state-of-the-art products that don’t compromise on sustainability and environmental aspects. Innovative technologies, intuitive operation and minimalist design are among the signature features of our pioneer products that are handcrafted in our carbon-neutral production facilities in Switzerland.

“After successfully launching a series of studios across Europe, it was time we brought our Swiss essence of entertaining and living to Sydney. As a vibrant, stylish city, it felt a natural fit to craft a studio set up for the Australian market to experience our product range. We hope the space inspires visitors to invest in V-ZUG’s leading sustainable craftsmanship.”

V-ZUG’s Sydney Studio provides an opportunity for visitors to experience its latest appliances, including the V-ZUG CombiSteamer V6000 45L Grand 90cm combination steam oven, the CombiSteamer V6000 45M PowerSteam combination steam oven with microwave technology and the CookTop V6000 FullFlex induction cooktop.

The V-ZUG Studio Sydney is located at 90 Fitzroy Street, Surry Hills, open by appointment, Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.
