BENDIGO: Long-standing regional Victorian Betta Electrical member of 20 years, Reillys Electrical of Bendigo and Corowa, has left the Betta Stores Limited (BSL) Group and moved over to Retravision after the acquisition of Kevin Healey’s store in Bendigo.

The Kevin Healey Retravision store, previously located at 62 – 64 Mitchell Street, Bendigo, has now closed with Healey relocating to Western Australia.

The two Reillys stores located at 119 – 121 Mitchell Street in Bendigo and the Corowa store at 180 Sanger Street will now both be branded Retravision.

“We have purchased a local Retravision store, Kevin Healey Retravision in Bendigo, which has been here for over 25 years. So that store is closing and we’re basically taking on the Retravision name, so it will be Reilly’s Retravision in Bendigo and Corowa,” store proprietor, Glenn Reilly, told Current.com.au.

Reilly stated his store’s direction was not consistent with the BSL vision and believed it was beneficial for both parties to part ways.

“I suppose you can say the direction we were going was slightly different to where Betta stores wanted to take it,” he said.

“We weren’t happy with the new agreement put up by Betta Stores. They wanted to concentrate on their core business, which I agree with, but as a group they really had to refocus.

“The strength of our business is very much, apart from the core of electrical appliances, specialist home theatres and European cooking appliances. Our business has moved on I believe, but Betta Stores has been great for us over many years."

Reilly believes that the move away from Betta Stores will herald a new era for the Reilly family business.

“Our business has been here 25 years in Bendigo and 20 years in Corowa so it’s certainly well-established. I suppose this is really the next stage, the next phase for us."

“The Bendigo store will be expanded in the new year, but it’s still on the drawing board at the moment," Reilly said.
