BRISBANE: Betta Stores Retail (BSR) has confirmed it will move to new premises in Eagle Farm at the end of next week and will hold its first conference as a franchisor in Auckland at the end of July.
BSR general manager, Ian Brown, told Current.com.au that the franchisor held a state meeting this week which was attended by over 60 retailers from as far west as Innisfail and Longreach and as far south as Lismore.
“It was a very successful meeting. The main purpose was to bring everyone in line with the final shareholding as our prospectus closed at 5.00pm on 18 January. Shares are now being issued to all shareholders,” he said.
At the meeting, BSR announced that the group’s annual general meeting and national conference will be held from 22-25 July in Auckland. The date of the event is ideal for rugby enthusiasts as the Bledisloe Cup match between the Wallabies and the Philips-sponsored All Blacks will be held the night before on Saturday 21 July at the Eden Park venue which is affiliated with Panasonic.
Brown also announced that following the sale of the School Street building at Spring Hill in Brisbane, BSR will be renting new purpose-built premises on the 3rd and 4th of February located at 57 Lavarach Avenue in Eagle Farm.
The new three-storey building is smaller than the School Street premises, but Brown said just 35 staff members are currently working for BSR compared to over 120 that worked for Betta Stores Limited in the building prior to the business being placed into administration and receivership.
