Technics has launched the new Premium Class OTTAVA SC-C70MK2 all-in-one music system, with sound and design enhancements to the original SC-C70.

Audio performance has been enriched with an exclusively developed 8cm woofer unit and 2cm dome tweeter unit. The woofer has been improved with the reduced weight of the voice coil, enhanced airflow, and increased rigidity of the diaphragm for superior sound clarity and reproduction of mid and high frequency sounds. The dome tweeter unit features a lighter silk diaphragm for lingering sound.

As for the design, the SC-C70MK2 is available in silver or black with an aluminium top panel, louvred front grille and unique manual CD tray.

Panasonic product marketing manager for audio and video, Aaron Waters said the SC-C70MK2 all-in-one music system offers pure sound, convenient set up and streaming, and a design to match modern interiors.

“Arriving in time for Christmas, this is the perfect gift for the discerning music lover who wants to enjoy their music collection as well as audio from today’s diverse sources,” he said.

The SC-C70MK2 features a new tweeter combined with an acoustic lens optimised to deliver more expansive sound. Just like its predecessor, the SC-C70MK2 features a 2.1ch speaker system that includes a 12cm subwoofer.

The speaker system is driven by three units of Technics’ original digital amp, JENO Engine, to reproduce full-bodied sound by expanding the frequency band of Bluetooth and internet radio sources. Space Tune Auto with an integrated microphone allows for quick calibration and optimises the sound field based on sound reflection in the room.

The music system supports a wide range of music sources including CD and radio as well as streaming services such as Chromecast built-in, AirPlay 2 and Deezer. The SC-C70MK2 also works with Google Assistant. The user interface of the Technics Audio Centre App has also been redesigned.

The new model is available now via selected audio specialist retailers for RRP $1,649.
