TCL Mobile is expanding its range with the addition of the TCL 20 R 5G, marking the brand’s most affordable 5G smartphone to date at $349.
It joins the TCL 20 5G, priced at $499, and the flagship TCL 20 Pro 5G, priced at $799, that were both launched in the last four months.
In addition to 5G mobile speeds, an immersive screen and triple camera set-up, the 20 R 5G also features the latest high-end processor, a 90Hz refresh rate display with 180Hz touch sampling rate and an expandable memory up to 1TB. Making contactless payments more accessible, the device also comes with NFC functionality and access to Google Pay.
The 20 R 5G will enable many more people to experience 5G for the first time, according to TCL Communication channel manager for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands, Joseph Corrente.
“However, it goes much further than price alone, as we have been able to deliver some exciting features that we believe make the 20 R 5G best-in-class. When added to our broader range, it demonstrates our leadership in 5G smartphones across affordability, accessibility, quality and performance,” he said.
TCL’s 20 R 5G enables seamless, high-definition video communication and ultra-fast download speeds. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, the device delivers enough power for all-day swiping and scrolling. It also ensures maximum battery life thanks to the chipset’s 7nm processor, which promises 28% more power-efficiency than an equivalent 8nm processor.
The 6.52-inch V-notch display provides a 90% screen-to-body ratio with TCL’s proprietary NXTVISION technology for image and video enhancement, low blue light protection, as well as Reading and Eye Comfort modes.
The 13MP triple camera features AI Auto-Enhancement to optimise scenes, while the dedicated 2MP depth lens and 2MP macro lens add versatility from portraits to close-up shots.
Face unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor deliver added convenience, and the 4500mAh battery delivers 10 hours of video, 34 hours of talk time and 210 hours of audio playback.
The TCL 20 R 5G is now available in Granite Grey and Lazurite Blue at Harvey Norman, Vodafone, Officeworks and Mobileciti.
