Back in January, we reported that Samsung had won a preliminary decision against Sharp for patent infringement in a bid to halt imports of its LCD panels in the US market, Sharp has now hit back and won its separate case against the manufacturer.

A judge from the US International Trade Commission has ruled that Samsung infringed four Sharp patents and recommended that the agency ban the import of Samsung’s LCD televisions, computer monitors and professional displays.

This comes just months after Samsung won its case against Sharp for similar infringements in relation to two of its patents.

Sharp issued an appeal in March to Japan’s Intellectual Property High Court and a decision is expected soon on the verdict.

It seems the fight between Samsung and Sharp over the highly coveted US market is in full swing, but will both competitors knock each other out of the ring?
